The structure explores the tension between mass and emptiness, stability and movement. Light passes through and around the geometric forms, creating sculptural lighting and casting shadows that extend the sculpture beyond the steel itself.

Sype’s Thoughts
The squares stack, intersect and seem to search for their point of balance. I am drawn to this tension between the weight of steel and the light that passes through the empty spaces. Sype 003 evokes an improbable architecture, both solid and almost suspended, where each form seems to be held in place by the one before it.
