Sype Design
Light Sculptures & Sculptural Lighting
In the studio, each light sculpture takes shape from raw steel, handcrafted to create a dialogue between metal, light and space.
Sype Design is the studio of a French artist creating handcrafted steel light sculptures, at the intersection of contemporary art and sculptural lighting.
“Light shapes steel; steel reveals light.” — Sype
Background
From advertising photography to steel light sculpture.
A mastery of light developed behind the camera, now translated into raw material.
Approach
An entirely handcrafted process. Each creation is shaped by hand with the same level of precision, allowing the nuances of true craftsmanship to emerge.
Inspiration
Geometric rigor, the chaos of metallic structures, and the constant desire to create something never seen before.
For
Interior architects and designers seeking distinctive pieces.
Art galleries and design galleries.
Collectors, art enthusiasts and owners of exceptional spaces.
Those looking for contemporary sculptural lighting with a singular presence.
This vision comes fully to life in Éclipse Sonore, Sype Design’s signature work.
The Work
Each lamp and mirror is conceived as a light sculpture in its own right.
My work combines raw steel, clean lines and carefully controlled light to create sculptural pieces that are both functional and timeless.
Discover a selection of light sculptures, sculptural floor lamps and infinity mirrors, entirely handcrafted in my studio near Paris.
Light Sculptures
Light sculptures where raw steel meets carefully controlled light. Each piece balances the strength of the material, the precision of the hand and the emotion of light.
Infinity Mirrors
Between light sculpture and optical illusion, these infinity mirrors open unexpected visual perspectives at the boundary between reality and imagination.
Sculptural Floor Lamps
Vertical and architectural in presence, these sculptural floor lamps shape the space as much as they illuminate it. Luminous works designed to interact with architecture and contemporary interiors.
Custom Light Sculptures
Each project begins with a place, an intention or a specific use. I create custom light sculptures, handcrafted to engage naturally with your architecture and your environment.
