Steel discs overlap like the phases of an eclipse, while indirect light reveals their intersections and shadows.
Discs, Light and Overlapping Forms
Sype 015 is composed of several steel discs that intersect and overlap within a large circle. Light placed behind the forms highlights their contours, creating shifting areas of shadow and reflection. Depending on the viewing angle, the discs seem to converge, disappear or move into eclipse, giving the composition a constantly changing sense of depth.

Sype's Thoughts
The name Sound Eclipse came from this succession of discs overlapping without ever completely disappearing. I like the way light passes from one to another and transforms their superposition. The steel remains still, yet depending on where the piece is viewed from, the forms seem to move and the eclipse continually recomposes itself.
