Sype 021 – Silent Orbits
Sculptural Steel Floor Lamp
Six luminous circles in motion create a changing vertical composition, balancing movement, rotation and light.

Rotation, Balance and Light
Sype 021 is a sculptural steel floor lamp built around six circular raw-steel modules arranged along a vertical axis. Each module can rotate up to 120°, while three large outer circles rotate through 360°.
These movements transform both the geometry of the sculpture and the way light is diffused. Depending on their orientation, the circles overlap, separate or intersect, giving the piece a different silhouette from every viewpoint. Indirect LED lighting emphasizes this succession of orbits while keeping the light source itself concealed.

Sype's Thoughts
Sype 021 began as a search for balance. In its first version, the six modules formed a structure that felt too regular, almost static. Something was missing — a sense of space and movement.
I then began breaking this rhythm by adding large rotating circles, bringing greater lightness, tension and harmony to the composition.
Behind this apparent simplicity lies a long process of mechanical development: allowing the modules to rotate, supporting their weight and preserving the fluidity of the sculpture. With Sype 021, I wanted light and form to evolve together, creating a composition in constant motion.
