Sype 008 is a monumental sculptural floor lamp in steel, standing two metres high and built around a large circular form. Two slender steel lines intersect its geometry while the central light source creates a point of tension and balance. The delicacy of the structure contrasts with the presence of the circle, giving the piece a sense of suspension between movement and stillness.

Sype’s Thoughts
With Sype 008, I wanted to suspend time without representing a clock. The circle suggests a dial, yet nothing indicates the hour. Two long steel lines seem to pass through the piece without holding it in place. Light occupies the centre of this fragile construction: a moment suspended between movement and stillness
